The detailed and very large model of a heavy tank destroyer is a must-have for collectors and history enthusiasts. The Panzerjäger Tiger (P) Ferdinand was a German heavy tank destroyer used during World War II. It was constructed on the chassis of the Tiger I tank. Serial production began in 1943. Ferdinands took part in battles on the Eastern Front and during the Battle of Kursk. The tank destroyers were armed with the powerful 88mm PaK 43/2 L/71 anti-tank gun, which made them effective against almost all enemy vehicles. Thick armor provided good protection for the vehicle. Despite their impressive statistics, Ferdinands also had some drawbacks. These include limited mobility, susceptibility to failures and attacks by enemy infantry. After the Battle of Kursk, many of these vehicles were modernized and used in subsequent phases of the war. The Panzerjäger Tiger (P) Ferdinand was one of the most powerful German vehicles to appear on the battlefield during World War II. However, the role it played in the war was limited due to the small production of this model. This vehicle still ignites the imagination of history and military technology enthusiasts. It is also one of the most recognizable vehicles from the Second World War. Build history, piece by piece, with COBI!
