The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was one of the most advanced bombers of World War II and an icon of American aviation. Equipped with pressurized cabins, remotely controlled gun turrets, and a modern fire control system, it represented a technological breakthrough in aviation.

Thanks to its long range and high payload capacity, it became a key element of US strategy in the Pacific. Combat operations began in 1944; the aircraft operated from bases in India and China, and later from Guam, Saipan, and Tinian, carrying out strategic attacks on targets in Japan.

Its most famous missions include the firebombing of Tokyo and the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, carried out by the "Enola Gay" and the "Bockscar". After the war, the B-29 remained in service for many years, including during the Korean War.

"Monsoon Goon" was a Boeing B-29 Superfortress of the 794th Bombardment Squadron (468th Bombardment Group). In 1944, it was relocated to India, where it participated in long-range bombing raids over Asia.

It returned to the USA at the end of 1944 and was stationed at the Pyote Army Airfield in Texas. There it ended its service and was scrapped in 1949.
