COBI® Dewoitine D.520

The most modern French fighter from the World War II era. The Dewoitine D.520 was designed and built in 1938 by the aircraft manufacturer Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques du Midi. The aircraft was a single-seat fighter with a fully metallic low-wing design. Serial production began in March 1939 and continued despite France's surrender in 1940. Further units were produced for the Vichy government, the Luftwaffe, as well as the Italian, Bulgarian, and Romanian armies. Polish pilots defending France were equipped with 26 aircraft of this type during the German invasion in 1940. In total, approximately 755 units of the fighter were manufactured. The design proved so good that the aircraft remained in service until 1953.

With 335 COBI building blocks, you can build a highly detailed model of the Dewoitine D.520 fighter plane in 1:32 scale. The historical camouflage and markings (La France de Vichy) have been reproduced using high-quality prints that do not fade even with intensive use. The model features moving parts such as a propeller, ailerons, an opening cockpit, and foldable wheels. The set also includes a figure of a French pilot with an oxygen mask. The complete package is rounded off by a black building block display stand with a plaque bearing the model name.

The aircraft perfectly complements COBI's historical collection and is an ideal set for aviation enthusiasts and history fans. Thanks to the display stand, the model looks beautiful both in the room of a young builder and in the office of an adult building block fan. Build history, brick by brick!
