Fans of historical COBI sets will be delighted: the self-propelled Wespe vehicle joins the family based on the chassis of the Panzer II. It was a perfect blend of a proven chassis and an effective 10.5 cm leFH 18 howitzer. The Executive Edition model consists of 855 elements and is designed in a 1:28 scale.
A characteristic feature of the set is its colorful camouflage, which contrasts with the grey of the standard Panzer II and is styled in the grey tones of the early war period. The bricks feature high-quality prints that do not wear off during play. They display sand-green camouflage, visors, markings, and structural details such as fans and ventilation slots. The model includes a removable engine made of building bricks and a white nameplate with the set's name.
The Sd.Kfz. 124 Wespe was a German self-propelled gun from World War II, constructed on the chassis of the light Panzer II tank. It was armed with a 10.5 cm leFH 18/2 howitzer, making it an effective artillery support for German armored units. The Wespe entered service in 1943 and was deployed on both the Eastern and Western fronts. Thanks to its mobility, it could quickly change positions, protecting it from enemy counterattacks. Although produced in limited numbers, it gained recognition for its effectiveness and reliability in service as mobile artillery.
The set includes highly interesting figures: an artilleryman and two paratroopers. All figures feature tropical camouflage with strong sand accents, suggesting that the depicted vehicle fought on the Italian peninsula!
