COBI® Roman Camp-Watchtower

The watchtower is a symbol of vigilance, strength, and readiness of the Roman army. Similar towers stood along the Limes, the border of the Roman Empire. You decide whether to build a Roman camp (Castrum) or start constructing a Limes to halt the hordes of barbarians.

The watchtower served not only for observation. From it, legionaries transmitted signals, monitored enemy movements, and commanded the defense of the fortress.

With this set, you can build a detailed model of a Roman watchtower and create your own empire. It is the perfect addition to the collection of every brick enthusiast and history buff!

The tall wooden structure formed the first line of defense against dangers. A vigilant guard kept watch from the tower for the enemy and was ready to sound the alarm at any time. Towers of this type were a fixed part of Roman military camps (Castrum). The massive structure towered over the palisade and gave the legionaries a tactical advantage.

The set includes:

- Three realistic figures – a Roman legionary in full equipment (pilum, scutum, galea, gladius) and two Gallic warriors, armed with an axe, sword, and shield, signaling the impending danger.

- A detailed scene – a tower, a section of a high, fortified palisade, plants, a barrel with supplies, and a legionary standard with the eagle. Everything forms a coherent scene made of bricks that depicts life in a Roman camp. The entire construction is thought out and designed so that the figures can be placed both on the tower and on the stairs to the defensive walls. Ladders connect the different levels of the tower, thereby enhancing the realism of the set.

- High-quality prints and details – realistic decorations allow you to use the figures and the scenario not only in military scenes but also in everyday camp moments. A special highlight for fans of the IMPERIUM ROMANUM collection is the standard with the printed emblem of the Roman eagle and the inscription SPQR.

The watchtower is part of a modular set that can be combined with other elements of the IMPERIUM ROMANUM series by COBI. Complement it with camp gates, additional towers, and legionary tents to build a simple camp. Other configurations are also possible, e.g., four towers and four gates. Based on the instructions, you can decide whether to build the right or left corner of the palisade to optimally integrate it into the planned camp structure.

For a realistic Roman fort, place the towers at the corners and the gates opposite each other. Connect these elements to recreate the historical, rectangular floor plan of the camp. Place two tent groups in the center of the camp to complete the modular model.
