Description
A true giant is here! An absolute icon in a new dimension and the largest model in COBI's history, built from over 11,000 bricks. It is huge, legendary, and unique. This is a monumental masterpiece of engineering from COBI bricks and a gigantic tribute to one of the most famous and fearsome tanks of World War II. This model is built from over 11,000 carefully designed bricks and is a true collector's piece for any lover of brick modeling and history.
A Tiger among models!
Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. The Tiger II, also known as Königstiger, was the pinnacle of German tank technology at the end of World War II. Introduced in 1944, it weighed over 68 tons, featured an 88-mm cannon, and had armor up to 180 mm thick, making it nearly indestructible. Although fearsome, it was expensive, complex, and prone to breakdowns. It was a symbol of both the power and the desperation of the Third Reich.
Display piece from the Bovington Tank Museum
The Tiger II with turret number 104 was built at the Henschel plant in July 1944. It served with the 1st Company of the 101st SS Heavy Panzer Battalion and was commanded by Oberscharführer Sepp Franzl. In late August 1944, the tank was abandoned near Beauvais, likely after being hit by a Sherman tank from the 23rd Hussars Regiment. In 2006, the tank moved from the Royal Military College in Shrivenham to the Tank Museum in Bovington.
Why is the Tiger II Königstiger set so rare?
Collaboration with the Tank Museum – this model did not emerge detached from history. COBI worked closely with the Tank Museum in Bovington. The result is the most historically accurate recreation of the Tiger II in COBI's history. This model is a history lesson in the form of a constructive masterpiece.
Over 11,000 parts! – This is not only the largest Tiger model but also the most complex kit COBI has ever produced. The structure was designed so that not only the exterior but also the internal mechanisms and the vehicle's structure are replicated. This is a building challenge for the most experienced builders and offers the satisfaction of high-professional models! Incredible realism – Specifically designed construction elements, a three-color camouflage typical of late Tiger II models, a realistic color scheme based on the museum vehicle Tiger 104, and perfectly reproduced proportions and textures make the model look like a miniature version of a real tank from every angle.
Realistic tracks and wheels – Rotating wheels and tracks ensure smooth movement. The chassis is modeled after the original, making the model suitable both for display and for play by younger builders. The suspension is equipped with metal springs that keep the entire mechanism functional and allow overcoming small obstacles. The model uses ABS and fiberglass axles, which are more stable than standard axles and easily carry the weight of this colossus!
No stickers, only durable prints – all graphic details, markings, and tactical numbers are applied to the bricks using a durable printing technology that is abrasion-resistant and long-lasting. This ensures the model looks great not only immediately after assembly but also retains its visual quality after years of display.
Moving elements and full functionality – rotating turret, elevating and lowering cannon, moving track drive, fully functional chassis, opening hatches, an included MG 34 machine gun model, engine details, and a replicated interior – every moving element reflects the real capabilities of the machine. Maybach HL-230 – The set includes a removable Maybach HL-230 engine that can be displayed next to the tank. The engine model consists of approx. 550 parts and can be used as a standalone kit model. The engine can be displayed on the included stand with the printed engine nameplate. The engine can also be installed in the vehicle under the opening maintenance hatch.
Display plaque – The set comes with a black collector plaque featuring the set name, model scale, and important technical information about the original vehicle.
Great selection – The Tiger II in the impressive 1:12 scale is the true pride of the HISTORICAL COLLECTION WWII series. It includes a variety of legendary combat vehicles from different fronts of World War II.
